Services
Reflective Practice Workshop
During this 3-hour workshop, the adult learner will go on a journey of self-discovery related to identifying and mitigating blind spots in their practice. These blind spots may include all the salient aspects of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) – race, class, gender, age, colorism, gender, accent bias.
The goal of this workshop is to create a space where adult learners can reflect on their biases without judgment or acrimony, so that they will leave the session as better practitioners and leaders with tangible skills they can deploy. Participants will also be made of aware of the nuance and grace required to lead diverse teams in the most balkanized environment we have seen since the late 1960s.
The 3-hour Reflective Practice Workshop includes:
- Article Reflection to open the session. The article selected will serve as an advance organizer for the session by featuring a contemporary DEI issue.
- Action Learning tabletop exercises related to contemporary DEI issues and challenges with a focus on inclusive and ethical leadership.
- Multimedia Presentation entitled The Power of Perception. This presentation is replete with video, text, still images and data, all designed to move adult learners along the continuum of cultural competence. The presentation concludes with a critical incident questionnaire which illuminates the key takeaways, new learning, and practice application for the adult learners.

Midway Diversity Solutions offers one-on-one executive coaching for organizational leaders. Each session is 90 minutes and allows for true two-way communication to take place. The subject and outcomes of the coaching session will be decided ahead of time by the person requesting the session.

Framework
The Midway Diversity Solutions framework is comprised of three elements: Adult Education, United States History and Organizational DEI Data.
The hallmark of adult education is the respect exhibited by adult educators for the adult learner. DeWayne Street has a master’s degree in Adult Continuing Education plus 54 post-graduate credits. He is an expert in creating adult learning spaces where every learner can contribute to their own learning and to that of the collective.
To fully understand the complexity of the current DEI landscape today, one must have an understanding of the complexities of U.S. history. History should not be used as a weapon, but to provide perspective. DeWayne Street is an expert in U.S. history and uses this expertise to illuminate the arc that connects the past to the present in way the inspires and empowers the adult learner to shape the future.
Data collection and analysis related to key DEI metrics is critical to determining the genesis of organization DEI challenges and addressing them effectively, free of ideology or world view. DeWayne Street uses data in his practice to fashion solutions that are based on facts and evidence, not on slogans and emotion. In the words of Frederick Douglass – Right is of no sex and truth is of no color.
